About Thomas Norman

I am a Professor of Management in the College of Business Administration and Public Policy, in my 19th year at CSUDH. I teach management theory, compensation, and labor and industrial relations, and I wrote the textbooks for two of those courses. Shared governance has been part of my working life here from the beginning — because the university works best when the people doing the teaching help steer it.

Building Things That Last

I believe service should outlive the person who starts it. The CSU Job Shadow Program I helped pioneer now serves students across multiple campuses. The Volcker Alliance public sector career series connected CSU students to government careers. The Innovation Incubator keeps producing founders. As a Los Angeles Budget Advocate, I help neighborhood representatives hold a $13 billion city budget to account — experience I intend to put to work on our own.
